The Centre for Molecular Biology and Neuroscience (CMBN) is one of 13 Centres of Excellence in Norway. These centres, sponsored by the Norwegian Research Council, cover a variety of research disciplines. The centres were selected in June 2002 and will be funded for a period of up to 10 years.

The Centre is based on the Gaustad campus in Oslo and comprises close to 200 scientists from the University of Oslo and Oslo University Hospital.
